GOSHEN – With Legoland New York in Goshen about to open up in the coming weeks, we got a VIP tour of the amusement park on Wednesday.

Park officials show us the final stages of construction before the facility opens up.

Divisional Director Stephanie Johnson noted the kiddie park was to open a year ago, but COVID-19 took its toll on that plan.

“Legoland New York will open this summer. We are pursuing a phased opening model, which means we will gradually open areas of our theme park and increase guest capacity along with it,” she said. “This is aligned with our construction milestones. It supports social distancing and, of course, compliance with New York State guidelines.”

The theme park, the largest Legoland in the country, will also have a hotel, which will be open for business next year.

The park will be open seasonally and closed from late fall through early spring each year.
