Armed Poughkeepsie man arrested in Newburgh

NEWBURGH – A Poughkeepsie man was arrested on Tuesday afternoon in Newburgh after he was spotted with a gun.

Peter Telesco, 23, was charged by Newburgh City Police with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon for having a 9mm semi-automatic firearm and a clip loaded with 10 rounds.

Just before 3 p.m., police were called to a report in the area of South and Liberty streets in Newburgh and when he saw officers, he fled on foot. Police officers chased him in their vehicles until he was taken into custody.
