LIBERTY – Veteran Liberty Village Police officer Steven D’Agata is the new chief of the department, replacing Scott Kinne, who retired late last week.
D’Agata has served his entire career with the department, hired as a patrolman and rising through the ranks of detective, detective sergeant and now chief.
“I look forward to working with the amazing men and women of the Liberty Police Department that do outstanding work each and every day to keep the residents and visitors of the Village of Liberty safe,” he said. “Chief Kinne has created an outstanding department, and I will continue to carry on the long tradition of excellence in public service that the Village of Liberty Police Department is known for.”
D’Agata pledged to “work with the community in a joint effort to ensure that Liberty is a safe place to live, work and visit and that the police department remains responsive to the changing needs of the community.”
