CATSKILL – Tourism is a major component of the economy of the Catskills and Greene County and Columbia-Greene Workforce New York will be holding a multi-resort hospitality job fair at the Blackthorne Resort in East Durham to fill the many jobs that will be available this coming season.

Resorts will be looking to fill full-time, part-time, seasonal, and other employment positions from ages 14 and up, on Sunday, May 2 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Applicants are encouraged to bring resumes, be ready to complete applications and conduct interviews at the fair.

“As businesses begin to resume regular activities as more of the population is vaccinated and travel increases, there is a need for additional employees for tourism-related businesses,” said Deputy County Administrator Warren Hart.

He noted that Zoom Flume Water Park in Durham, did not have a 2020 season due to COVID-19. As a result, the facility lost its entire workforce and revenue for the year and is starting over with new employees for 2021.

“With high unemployment rates and businesses in need of workers, the workforce office looks forward to connecting Greene County employers and workers safely and conveniently,” said Chris Nardone, director of Columbia-Greene Workforce New York.

Masks and social distancing will be required.
