MOUNT VERNON – On September 5th, 2019, under the direction of former Acting Mayor Andre Wallace and former Police Commissioner Shawn Harris, Police Chief Richton Ziadie was suspended without pay for alleged abuses of overtime. A lengthy investigation has been concluded and Ziadie has been restored to his position.

Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard announced the vindication on Wednesday afternoon.  According to the mayor, the Westchester County District Attorney Office concluded their investigation into the complaint and declined to press charges against the chief.

Mayor Patterson-Howard said, “Chief Richton Ziadie will be immediately restored to full duty status and will retire in good standing with the Mount Vernon Police Department.”
