Police backup called in

POUGHKEEPSIE – City of Poughkeepsie Police responded with multiple units to assist another law enforcement agency Friday night in the city.  The call for assistance came from Dutchess County Sheriff’s Deputies.

 

Around 9:30 Friday night, Deputies encountered a man who was refusing to obey commands.  The reason for the encounter between the subject and the deputies on Weed Street was unavailable.

 

A witness told Mid-Hudson News that the man became unruly, causing the deputies to call for additional officers.  The City of Poughkeepsie police responded with at least four units and helped the deputies maintain control of the situation.

 

No additional information was immediately available regarding the incident.
