Serious truck crash on Thruway

TOWN OF NEWBURGH – A three-vehicle crash on the southbound Thruway in the Town of Newburgh is believed to have claimed one life.

The accident occurred minutes before 3 p.m. on Tuesday where Route 17K goes over the Thruway.

Initial reports indicated it involved a 53-foot-long tractor-trailer and two other trucks.

The Winona Lake Fire Department and Orange County hazmat team were called to the scene.
