WHITE PLAINS – A former Cold Spring village trustee and substitute teacher in the village was sentenced to five years in prison for attempted receipt of child pornography from a former student

Charles Hustis, 37, previously pled guilty.

According to court information and statements made during court proceedings, Hustis communicated over Facebook Messenger with a 16-year-old in December 2019 during which he sent him sexual images, including of himself, and attempted to arrange a meeting with the child with the understanding Hustis would perform various sex acts.

Hustis repeatedly solicited photos from the victim while arranging his planned meeting. When he showed up for that meeting, he was met by law enforcement officers who arrested him.

In addition to federal prison, Hustis was sentenced to seven years of supervised release.
