POMONA – Funeral services for Spring Valley Fireman Jared Lloyd, who was killed in the line of duty on March 23 during the Evergreen Adult Home fire in the village, will be held on Saturday, April 3 at 11 a.m. at Palisades Credit Unit Park in Pomona.
The 35-year-old Lloyd was one of two people to have lost their lives in the blaze that destroyed the building. A male resident also perished in the fire.
The remainder of the 112 residents of the facility were evacuated safely with some suffering varying degrees of injuries.
Lloyd was a 15-year member of the Columbian Engine Company.
Fire departments and ambulance corps from across Rockland and Bergen counties fought the blaze, the origin of which has not been determined.
