Police officer shoots at perp who drives straight at him

HALCOTT – Police are looking for a man wanted in a domestic incident, who fled around a roadblock and at an officer from the Village of Walton. The officer discharged his firearm at the suspect with no injuries reported of if the vehicle was struck by bullets.

State Police from the Catskill and Margaretville barracks investigated along with local agencies.

At around 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 25, troopers investigated a domestic incident in the Town of Halcott. The suspect, later identified as Bahji Green, 29, had left the area in a Toyota minivan before officers arrived.

Other troopers spotted him in the vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but he failed to comply, and a pursuit was initiated but later terminated.

Other area law enforcement from the villages of Delhi and Walton set up a stationary roadblock at the intersections of County Route 2 and State Route 10 in the Town of Hamden.

The minivan drove around the roadblock and at the officer, who then fired his gun.

Green is described as being black, about six feet tall, weighing 145 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

The vehicle had a New York license plate of JBU7991.

The investigation is continuing and anyone with information is asked to call State Police at Catskill at 518-622-8600.
