HYDE PARK – State Police have arrested a Poughkeepsie woman on felony charges that she stole over $480,000 from a Hyde Park co-op community when she worked as their property manager.

Joy Funk

With the assistance of the State Police Financial Crimes Unit, it was alleged that Joy Funk, 51, operating under J.D. W.A.H., Inc., had been stealing from them since 2015 and had taken over $480,000 from the community prior to her termination in May 2020. Funk also presented falsified financial statements to the co-op’s mortgage company in 2018 and 2019.

State Police at Salt Point and the Financial Crimes Unit were assisted by the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office during the investigation.

Funk, who was arrested on March 22, was arraigned in Milan Court and released on her own recognizance pending a future court appearance.

Anyone who believes that they may be the victim of a crime perpetrated by Funk or her company, J.D.W.A.H., Inc., is asked to call Investigator Melissa McMorris at 845-677-7372.
