Town of Poughkeepsie traffic stop results in arrest on felony drug charges

POUGHKEEPSIE – A City of Poughkeepsie man was released on his own recognizance following his arrest for a traffic violation in the area of Manchester Road in the Town of Poughkeepsie when town police located a large quantity of cocaine on him and in the vehicle he was driving.

Brandon Richardson, 33, was initially charged in the March 19 stop at 11:15 p.m. with driving under the influence of drugs. During the arrest processing, the cocaine was recovered.

He was charged with two felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, two misdemeanors for resisting arrest and driving while ability impaired, as well as several traffic violations.
