Ulster inmate charged with starting fire in jail

KINGSTON – A Marlborough man has been charged with arson after he allegedly started a fire in the Ulster County Jail while incarcerated there.

The sheriff’s office charged Dylan Pascariello, 27, with arson, reckless endangerment, promoting prison contraband and criminal mischief.

On March 18 at about 6:30 p.m., he allegedly started a fire causing damage to county property. It was quickly extinguished by corrections staff and no injuries were reported.

Pascariello remains incarcerated pending a future court appearance.

Detectives and corrections staff were assisted by the Kingston City Fire Department.
