NEWBURGH – The electronic gaming casino proposed for the Newburgh Mall is in the early discussion stages with Town of Newburgh officials in hopes of winning their approvals to develop the facility.

Resorts World Hudson Valley, as it has been dubbed, will be developed and operated by the owners of Resorts World Catskills in Kiamesha Lake.

The company’s Government Affairs Director, Meghan Taylor, is confident they will meet all of the town’s concerns.

“There are always questions that we need to answer, and we are going to continue to work really well with the town officials. They have all been fantastic and when they pose a question, we have been able to answer it so far, so we are optimistic and hopeful for a really good project,” she said.

The casino in Newburgh is expected to pump new life into the long-stagnant shopping center and provide a new funding stream for the town and Orange County.
