MONTICELLO – A state pop-up site for COVID-19 vaccinations held at Monticello Raceway on Friday brought out a number of area residents for their shots.

Resorts World Catskills spokeswoman Meghan Taylor said all 220 doses available have been administered.

Wilson Rodriguez came for his first shot and he feels like a weight has been lifted off him.

“I have had so many friends and family members that have been stricken, passed away. I personally was hit hard by it. My wife and I got infected. We got through it. It was rough,” he said.

The Monticello site was one of 14 community-based pop-ups around the state.

“It was a great day making sure the Sullivan community was receiving vaccine,” said Taylor.

Another date will be set in three weeks so that people who received their first shots on Friday will be able to return for their second dose.
