POUGHKEEPSIE – City of Poughkeepsie police are investigating a Thursday night stabbing that sent a male victim to the hospital under the care of Mobile Life medics.
Police were dispatched to the vicinity of Mansion Street and Winnikee Avenue for a report of a man with a stab wound to the back. According to a police department official, the call reporting the stabbing was received by city 911 at approximately 5:59 p.m.
Responding officers determined that the incident occurred in or near 312 Mansion Street. The male victim was located, triaged, and transported by ambulance to a Poughkeepsie hospital as police conducted their primary investigation.
That resulted in a female person of interest being taken into police custody while the investigation continued.
