Urgent arrests Ellenville man for peddling fentanyl

ELLENVILLE – A 32-year-old Ellenville man is being held in the Ulster County Jail without bail following his arrest on March 5 on charges that he was selling fentanyl in the Village of Ellenville.

The Ulster Regional Gang Enforcement Narcotics Team charged Matthew Deas with felony criminal possession and criminal sale of a controlled substance.

Following his placement in jail in the early morning hours of March 6, he was found in possession of fentanyl hidden on him.

As a result, Deas was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and one count of promoting prison contraband.
