Man faces gun, drug charges

POUGHKEEPSIE – The City of Poughkeepsie Police Neighborhood Recovery Unit executed a search warrant on February 24 and arrested a man on gun and drug charges. They were assisted by the Dutchess County Drug Task Force, FBI Safe Streets Task Force, and the Ulster Regional Gang Enforcement Narcotics Team.

The ongoing investigation led to the warrant search at 127 S. Grand Avenue and resulted in the arrest of 28-year-old Tendai Kambarami.  Police seized 17 grams of cocaine, 150 grams of marijuana, cash, and a .45 caliber Colt semi-automatic handgun that had previously been reported stolen.

Kambarami has been charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of stolen property, and criminal possession of a weapon.
