NEW PALTZ – Seven students and one employee have tested positive for COVID-19 as of Friday, SUNY New Paltz officials announced.

That brings to 50, the number of active campus positive cases. Fifteen students are presently in quarantine on campus and 22 students are in isolation on campus.

There have been 82 students and 22 employees in the on-campus population with confirmed positive cases of the coronavirus since January 1.

The college has an online dashboard with daily updates on several virus-related issues. It does not include information about positive cases among students taking online courses from home, or employees who are telecommuting and not coming to campus, as any such cases should not pose an on-campus health risk.
