MONTICELLO – Sullivan County Partnership President Marc Baez, Thursday, took the wraps off a project to develop an eco-tech retreat in the Town of Bethel.

The company plans to build three to five cabin pods of 300 to 400-square feet each with 50 people at any given time on-site developing e-gaming and e-sports programs in a bucolic setting with nature, Baez told the county legislature’s Economic Development Committee.

“There they get in the zone, they want to be quiet, it’s a one with nature, they want to quit, they want to get on their fat-tire bicycle and go for a ride; it’s the way it is,” he said. “They are affiliated with large companies; they do work with Google and all the other big names in the tech industry.”

The project is planned for a former hunting camp in Bethel.
