Plattekill man arrested on gun charges in Beacon

A 38-year-old Monticello woman has been arrested for being in possession of multiple handguns on the campus of Liberty High School last week.

BEACON – A Plattekill man has been remanded to the Dutchess County Jail on bail following his arrest in Beacon shortly before 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 2.

Beacon Police responded to 426 Main Street for a report of a robbery involving a firearm.

Officers located and interviewed two men, one of whom was in possession of narcotics as well as a semi-automatic “ghost gun,” a weapon assembled from parts or kits that include an unfinished piece such a frame or receiver with no serial numbers.

Dillon Brown, 23, was charged with robbery, criminal possession of a weapon and drug possession, all as felonies, and one misdemeanor count of drug possession.

He was later placed in a holding cell where he intentionally obstructed the toilet with clothing and was charged with criminal tampering.

He was committed to county jail on $5,000 cash bail, $20,000 bond and $50,000 unsecured bond pending a return to town court.
