Fire heavily damages Newburgh home

NEWBURGH – Flames lit up the nighttime sky in the City of Newburgh Wednesday as a two-alarm fire raged in a home at 446 First Street.

The blaze broke out before 7 p.m. as firefighters raced to the scene. Bright orange flames shot out of the windows and doors to the home.

Mutual aid was called in from area departments.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and there was no immediate word on any injuries.
