WHITE PLAINS – The Women’s Enterprise Development Center has opened a second office, in Poughkeepsie, to supplement its mission in its White Plains office.
The non-profit agency provides entrepreneurs with the training and resources to build successful businesses that generate economic growth in the Mid-Hudson Valley, said Director of Development and Strategic Initiatives, Nikki Hahn.
“We know that women and minorities are one of the fastest-growing sectors of small business ownership throughout the country and obviously with the negative impacts of the pandemic and women being forced out of the workplace, a lot of them are turning to small business ownership as a means of financial support,” she said.
The two offices serve residents of Dutchess, Orange, Ulster, Putnam, Sullivan, and Rockland counties.
