According to the County’s Mayor Don Hammond, “There is an uptick in the businesses in the last few weeks of February with the start of film production. The filming is helping all of our businesses to catch some breath.”

The existing businesses in the town, especially the cafes, saw their funds going up, as the local restaurants and cafes are getting extra funds from the owners. In the words of one of the local business owners Kenan Kapetanovic, “The filming production has brought much crowd to the local cafes. The natives are curious to watch the shooting. So, businesses are gaining a great boost.”

Rockland County is already a multi-faceted filming destination for film shooting. It has numerous historical landmarks, quaint villages, scenic waterfronts, and mountainous parks, with New York City just a few minutes away. Moreover, the county is located in the Mid-Hudson region that makes it a popular filming location. The region is getting busiest with the shows and movies made here. We also work closely with private investors to adapt to new opportunities. It helps in fostering economic growth in the county.”

Many films are scheduled for 2021, which will help the county triple its revenue by the end of this year. The county is also working on the private stage development to meet the increased demand for creative media for enhanced infrastructure.
