Pleasant Valley man arrested for forcible sex abuse

POUGHKEEPSIE – A Pleasant Valley man has been arrested on several sexual abuse charges.

The State Police from the Salt Point barracks and the Dutchess County Child Advocacy Center arrested Matthew McClay, 23, on felony charges of sex abuse forcible compulsion and reckless endangerment, as well as misdemeanors of sex abuse, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful dealing with a child.

Authorities executed a search warrant at his Route 44, Pleasant Valley home and discovered evidence leading to his arrest for using a firearm and alcoholic beverages to facilitate the forcible sexual abuse of a victim under the age of 14.

McClay was arraigned and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail, $40,000 bond or $80,000 partially secure bond.
