GREENPORT – State Police from the Livingston barracks have arrested a Coxsackie man on charges of first-degree rape and stalking.
A seven-month investigation by the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in conjunction with the Columbia County Child Advocacy Center alleged that Keener Mendez, 18, sexually assaulted a child.
He was arraigned and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
The investigation is continuing and anyone with information possibly related to crimes allegedly committed by Mendez is asked to contact the BCI in Livingston at 845-677-7300.
