On Thursday, February 11, heaven gained a special angel, beloved mother, grandmother, cousin, and friend to many, Georgieann Elmendorf of Poughkeepsie, wh passed away at home.
She was born on May 27, 1947 in Poughkeepsie, NY to John J. and Regina Leonetti Fell. Georgieann was a member of the first graduating class of Roy C. Ketcham High School. Georgieann worked at Marist College but previously was a waitress at Pete’s Famous Restaurant.
Georgieann was predeceased by her husband Harold “Buddy” Elmendorf, whom she married in June of 1987.
Georgieann loved going to watch hot air balloons, doing word searches, ceramics, working on puzzles, and reality TV. Her favorite Disney character was Dopey. Her biggest passion was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter Jennifer Moyer and her partner David Victor of Hyde Park, her son Louis and his wife Tamara of Hyde Park, and her son John Alphonse of Binghamton. She was also blessed with nine grandchildren whom she adored: Dylan, Vanessa, and Emma Moyer, Kyleigh, Victor, and Joshua Elterich, Anthony and Cheyenne Alphonse, Merrick Pendergast, Gabriel Pendergast, Grand furbaby Hannah and her cherished pet baby boy Henley.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2021, at Timothy Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
There will be a funeral service at 2:30 pm. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family at Union Cemetery in Hyde Park, NY.
