Letter to the Editor: Latest capacity ruling defies logic

To the Editor,
Venues/sports facilities (with a capacity of over 10k) are being given the green light, to operate at 10% of their capacity. There will be additional mandates… a negative test within 72 hours of the event, assigned seating, etc.
I’m happy for them, and for my musician friends who may now be able to get back to work. But, can anyone think of a reason why smaller music/entertainment venues (like The Bardavon, The Lycian Center, the Towne Crier, or The Chance) shouldn’t be able to open, as well… at the same 10%?
Bars and restaurants couldn’t get a one-day extension on Super Bowl Sunday… for two hours… for just one day. But, a venue with 70k seats, can host 7000 people. Another decision that defies reason… and sticks in the craw of the rest of us.
Sincerely,

Brian E. Butler
