Fire destroys animal control officer’s home

NEW CITY – An early morning fire Wednesday destroyed the home of the Town of Montgomery animal control officer.

Anne Llkiw lives on Strawtown Road in New City.

The animal control officer for nearly 20 years also assists with animal calls in the villages of Walden, Maybrook, and Montgomery.

The town PBA is raising money on her behalf to help her through this trying time.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
