Dutchess brothers arrested on felony drug charges

POUGHKEEPSIE – The Dutchess County Drug Task Force has arrested two brothers following the simultaneous execution of search warrants in the City of Poughkeepsie and Town of Hyde Park on Thursday, January 28.

Eugene Taylor, 49, who lives at 51 Smith Street, and Glenn Taylor, 52, who lives at 4171 Route 9 in Hyde Park at the Inn at Hyde Park, were taken into custody following investigations into narcotics sales taking place at those locations and surrounding areas.

Seized during the warrant searches were a half ounce of cocaine, scales, packaging materials, and approximately $3,200 in cash.

Both men were charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.

Eugene Taylor was arraigned in Poughkeepsie City Court and released. Glenn Taylor was arraigned in Hyde Park Town Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.

Police said additional charges may be pending.

Assisting in the investigation were the City of Poughkeepsie Police Emergency Services Unit and the Dutchess County Sheriff and Hyde Park Police patrol divisions.
