HIGH FALLS – Woodstock Farm Sanctuary worked with North Greenbush Police and Mohawk Hudson Humane Society to assist in helping hundreds of neglected, sick animals on Tuesday, January 26.

The sanctuary rescued over 50 animals from a farm on Hidley Road in Wynantskill following a complaint that had been filed regarding poor living conditions including inadequate shelter, food, and water.

Woodstock Sanctuary rescued two baby cows, seven turkeys, six ducks, and 38 chickens from the farm, all of which needed urgent medical attention.

“We were planning on rescuing a cow and the chickens, but once we were on the ground, we saw the need for us to take as many of the farmed animals as possible,” said Executive Director Rachel McCrystal.

An investigation is ongoing.

Woodstock Farm Sanctuary is seeking support to help cover medical costs of the large rescue.
