GREENBURGH – An employee of the Town of Greenburgh Building Department has tested positive for COVID-19 resulting in the town shutting down the department.

Supervisor Paul Feiner said the worker’s most recent day on the job was last Friday, January 23. He said the department of health has recommended that anyone who had contact with the employee beyond 15 minutes should be told to quarantine and each will be tested. As a result, building department employees are in self-quarantine and each will be tested.

einer said absent of any symptoms or positive test results, the anticipated return date is Tuesday, February 2.

Support staff will continue to work from home by answering phones and responding to emails.

He said no inspections will take place and no permits will be issued during this temporary shut-down.
