Stabbing in Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE – City of Poughkeepsie Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred Thursday night on Main Street, sending a victim to the hospital.

At approximately 7:35 p.m., police were summoned to the Gulf Station at 531 Main Street, at the intersection of Rose Street, for a reported altercation.  The struggle between two men began in the store and continued out into the parking lot.  One of the men, a 37-year-old, was stabbed in the abdomen during the incident.

The victim has been transported to Vassar Brothers Medical Center for treatment of a non-life-threatening stab wound.

No arrests have been made, and the suspect had fled the scene prior to the arrival of officers, according to police officials.
