HVEDC adds Galarneau to board of directors

POUGHKEEPSIE – Gerard Galarneau, MD, MMM, President of Garnet Health Doctors, is joining the Board of Directors of the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation (HVEDC). Dr. Galarneau, with expertise in quality healthcare and corporate management, will provide comprehensive insights as the HVEDC helps local businesses rebound from the COVID-19 pandemic now and in the future.

Garnet Health Doctors, based in Middletown, is part of Garnet Health, one of the largest healthcare systems in the tri-state area. Garnet Health provides medical and healthcare services that enable residents to remain close to home to receive care. Garnet Health Doctors, with eight locations in Orange and Sullivan counties, is a multi-specialty medical practice providing outpatient and inpatient care.

Dr. Galarneau has an innovative and accomplished history of leadership with Garnet Health, which he joined in 2002. Prior to serving as president of Garnet Health Doctors,  Galarneau’s positions included serving as president of Orange Regional Medical Group and Catskill Regional Medical Group, roles that he assumed in June 2017. Earlier, he served as chief executive officer and chief medical officer of Catskill Regional Medical Center (now Garnet Health Medical Center – Catskills) and chairman of the Department of Urology at Garnet Health Medical Center (formerly Orange Regional Medical Center).
