POUGHKEEPSIE – The City of Poughkeepsie has $200,000 in federal funds available to provide grants of up to $10,000 to assist microenterprise businesses negatively impacted by the COVID-19 virus.

The funds can be used to stabilize those businesses and preserve jobs, said Mayor Rob Rolison.

“It’s the small business with five or fewer employees and those can sometimes be jobs that are on the lower to income scale and this way these employers can get some relief to keep people employed,” he said.

Funding for the program comes from the COVID/CARES Act through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
