WAPPINGERS FALLS – One person is dead following an accident between a car and school bus early Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Route 9D and Red Schoolhouse Road in the Town of Wappinger.
There were no children on the bus, according to Troop K State Police Spokesman Trooper A.J. Hicks. The driver of the passenger vehicle sustained the fatal injuries.
The accident, which occurred at approximately 1:34 p.m. on Wednesday, is expected to cause substantial traffic delays in the area. It is suggested that travelers seek alternative routes.
