It is with great sadness that the family of Gloria Lent (Marro) announces her sudden passing on Monday, January 11, 2021, at the age of 85. The daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna (Greico) Marro, Gloria was born April 30, 1935, and was a lifelong resident of Newburgh NY.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband Sebring (Buddy) and two sisters Kathryn (Kitty) Davis and Rose Marro. Gloria will be lovingly remembered by her daughters: Debra Sheehan and husband Joe of New Windsor, NY, Annette Sheehan of Newburgh, NY and Patricia Schultz and her partner Chris of Marlboro, NY; her granddaughters and their spouses: Jennifer and Brad Bush of PA., Jamie and David Ibbetson of Washingtonville; and five great-grandchildren: Savannah, David, McKayla, Madison and Brennan.
She worked in various restaurants as a waitress and self-taught chef including The Newburgh Tearoom, Fonda’s luncheonette, and Joseph’s. She was frequently praised for everything she made and was especially known for her sauce and meatballs. She will forever be in our hearts…
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, January 15 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Newburgh, with burial following in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor.
