Teen shot in head in latest Poughkeepsie violence

POUGHKEEPSIE – City Police in Poughkeepsie are investigating a shooting that sent a teenage boy to the hospital on Friday night.  The incident at 32 Conklin Street shortly after 10 p.m. resulted in the youth, estimated to be 14-years-old, being transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head.

Responding city officers were joined by officers from the Metropolitan Transit Authority in responding to the shooting on the less-traveled street.  The victim was located in the building and triaged by City of Poughkeepsie firefighters and Mobile Life Support medics before being transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital in serious condition. He was later transported to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.

Across the street from the scene, officers were interviewing teenage girls who were present at the time of the shooting.
