Esopus traffic stop leads to arrests for drug possession

KINGSTON – Two Kingston residents were arrested on Thursday night by Ulster County Sheriffs deputies following a traffic stop on Route 9W in Esopus.

Deputies conducted the stop at around 9:45 p.m. on January 7 after they observed a vehicle speeding and crossing over the fog line.

April Pond, 39, was charged with driving with a suspended license and for being in possession of crack cocaine and marijuana.

A passenger, Kareem Hill, 46, was charged with possessing fentanyl.

Both were released with appearance tickets returnable to town court.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by State Police.
