WHITE PLAINS – The Macy’s department store at 100 Main Street in White Plains will be closing permanently because of the ongoing pandemic and its impact on the economy, the State Department of Labor announced.

The store employs 137 people all of whom will be laid off as a result. They are expected to take place between April 6 and 19.

The store is expected to close its doors to the public for the last time on April 6.

Because of COVID-19, more and more shoppers are doing their purchasing online, impacting sales at actual stores.
