Saugerties man charged with strangulation

SAUGERTIES – A 30-year-old Saugerties man has been charged with strangulation after he allegedly placed his hand around a victim’s neck during a domestic dispute and attempted to strangle the individual.

The incident occurred at 605 Band Camp Circle in Saugerties on December 28.

It is alleged that Daniel Cole tried to strangle the victim, compromising her ability to breathe to the point of causing a stupor.

Cole was arrested by Saugerties Police and charged with a felony of strangulation, arraigned and released on his own recognizance pending a future court appearance.

A full stay-away order of protection was also issued on behalf of the victim.
