LAGRANGE – The teenage female pilot of a single-engine plane escaped injury Sunday afternoon when the plane crashed off Gidley Road in the Town of LaGrange. The cause is believed to have been engine failure.
Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro said the pilot was able to remove herself from the plane without injury.
State Police, LaGrange Fire Department, the Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response and the county’s hazardous materials team were on the scene with hazmat there to address any fuel leak issues.
State Police are the lead investigating agency in the incident.
