MID-HUDSON – Heavy rain and strong winds flooded roads, brought down power lines and started fires on utility poles across the region on Christmas morning. Snow melt exacerbated the situation.

Roads and basements have flooded, and trees, utility poles and power lines were down from one end of the region to the other.

If you see electric lines, utility poles or trees down on wires, stay away and call your utility company to report them.
