Eleven-year-old girl killed in Thruway crash

TOWN OF ULSTER – An 11-year-old Brooklyn girl lost her life when the car she was in collided with a State Police car on the Thruway in the Town of Ulster, overturned.

Monica Goods, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said that around 11:40 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22, troopers attempted to stop a 2017 Dodge Journey for a vehicle and traffic violation when the driver, later identified as Tristan Goods, 39, of Hollis, fled northbound.

The two vehicles collided resulting in the Dodge overturning. Tristan Goods was transported to Health Alliance Broadway Campus in Kingston and later transferred to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla for treatment of serious, bot non-life-threatening injuries.

No other injuries were reported.
