PEARL RIVER – Orange & Rockland has obtained more than 140 mutual aid overhead line technicians, with requests still out for additional help. This currently doubles O&R’s emergency response field forces available to make repairs and restore electric service as needed as a storm, packing high, gusty winds and heavy rains bears down on the region.
In addition to the increased number of mutual aid workers, O&R company and contractor overhead line crews and tree removal experts are mobilized and ready to deploy as are damage assessment, site safety, customer service operations and the wide array of O&R teams that support those functions.
If you experience a power outage, don’t assume that O&R automatically knows about it. You can report it and check to see when your lights will be back on by:
