KINGSTON – In the wake of last Thursday’s shooting death of a 12-year-old girl in her home, Kingston Mayor Steven Noble said city police are working to solve the case.

Noble said there are also several programs available to assist people who might otherwise get into trouble.

“The Kingston Police Department is ready to respond to any tips or any calls for help or service and if you know someone who is headed down there are so many different programs, everything from the Ulster County Restorative Justice Center to the community centers that operate at Hodge and Rondout Center. We have so many ways to be able to hep change the direction of our youth,” Noble said.

Killed in last week’s shooting was Dj’aneira Mason. Her 10-year-old brother Dansi, was wounded.
