WASHINGTON – It appears that there will be a new federal relief package approved by Congress in the next day or so.

Congressman Antonio Delgado (D, NY-19) outlined some of the anticipated benefits during a Facebook town hall session Wednesday evening.

“There does appear to be some agreement on a bipartisan basis to provide another round of direct payments, the amount anywhere from $600 to $700; that is still, I believe, being negotiated. There also appears to be some agreement on extending the supplemental unemployment benefits to folks, somewhere in the neighborhood of $300. But that is still an ongoing conversation; more money for PPP, which I have heard from small business owners across the district, is critically important,” he said.

Congressional leaders have said they will not leave Washington until a new COVID relief package is hammered out.
