Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus, second from right, meets with nurses as they received their COVID-19 shots

PORT JERVIS – A few dozen nurses at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis rolled up their sleeves on Tuesday to be among the first in the Hudson Valley to receive coronavirus vaccines.

Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus was at the hospital to watch those frontline workers being inoculated.

“I asked the nurses as they lined up to get the shots, the vaccine, if they were nervous about this, are you cautious about this? They said they weren’t, ‘what we’ve seen the last 10 months, we are ready to take the vaccine’,” he said.

Neuhaus said he will take the vaccine after nursing home residents and staff have been inoculated.
