Police release name of man killed in Newburgh high-speed chase

NEWBURGH – A Newark, New Jersey man was the victim in the fatal car crash in the City of Newburgh earlier this week.

the victim has been identified by police as 23-year-old Eric Ocasio-Grannell.

Three men fled in a Ford Econoline van after burglarizing a Route 9W, Town of Newburgh business early Tuesday morning leading town police into the City of Newburgh where the vehicle crashed at the intersection of Robison Avenue and South Williams Street.

The driver, Luis Colon, 27, and a third man, were injured. Colon was charged with manslaughter and unlawful fleeing a police officer.
