HOPEWELL JUNCTION – eMagin Corporation, a developer, designer and manufacturer of Active Matrix OLED micro-displays used in military and commercial AR/VR devices, and other near-eye imaging products, announced it has signed a new 10-year lease expanding its current Hopewell Junction facility by 25 percent to 63,000 square feet.

The company also will have two five-year options to extend the lease as part of the agreement.

As a result, the company expects to hire additional production and engineering personnel beginning in 2021.

“We are grateful to have a leading tech company like eMagin in our county,” said Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro. “Dutchess has a long and rich history of high-tech research and development, and manufacturing companies producing products that advance and protect the world. We look forward to working with eMagin to help train their new and exiting workforce in Dutchess County.”

The additional space will accommodate federal work including for the Defense Department under two grants totaling $40 million for enhanced US domestic capability for high resolution, high brightness OLED micro-displays,” said company CEO Andrew Schulley.

Buildout of the space will begin in the first quarter of 2021, increasing their existing clean room by 50 percent, and to support their improved manufacturing processes.
